GateSetu started at crusher gates in Maharashtra, and it runs the same way at a transit point in Italy or a yard in Kenya. What changes is who mounts the camera and where the hardware comes from — both answered below.
How an installation works when we are not there

A short video of your lane
Before anything is bought: thirty seconds of the lane from roughly where the camera would sit. Number-plate formats differ by country, and we confirm plate reading for yours first.

Your electrician mounts and wires
A pole beside the lane, the camera, the box in its enclosure, power. One morning's work from our mounting guide; nothing on the vehicles, nothing for gate staff to operate.

Setup on a call with our engineer
From a phone, the installer mode scans the box, shows the live frame, draws the gate line, sets working hours — and the first test message reaches WhatsApp before the call ends.
Your hardware, or ours
Option A — our kit
We ship the camera, edge computer and battery pre-configured, with the mounting guide. Shipping at cost; import duties are the buyer's. Everything else — app, WhatsApp reports, cloud, updates, support — is included in the yearly fee.
Option B — your hardware
You buy the camera, computer and battery locally to our one-page specification (roughly USD 900–1,200 per lane from any industrial supplier). We supply the software image and the same remote-guided setup, and you pay for the software alone. Nothing to import; a supplier you already know.
The box connects by network cable or your site Wi-Fi if the gate has either, otherwise through a 4G router with any local data SIM (about 40 MB a day per lane). The camera itself is never on the internet — it talks only to the box. Seven days of buffer if the link drops; nothing is lost.

Per gate lane, invoiced annually, quoted in writing after a short call. No lock-in on the software.

For five or more lanes there is room on both figures. A seven-day pilot at one lane runs on either option: free on the software, or against a refundable kit deposit; the annual term begins only when you confirm afterwards.
Several sites, one login
Every site appears in one login with a site switcher; each site sends its own nightly WhatsApp message, alerts carry the site and gate, and each site can have its own managers alongside a central one. A central team can use the web view — the same data in a browser, with every site on one screen — alongside the iOS and Android app.

- The plate reader is validated per country from your lane video before anything ships. If your format needs work, we say so before you buy.
- Where data lives
- Our servers are in India, with signed, expiring image links. If your data-residency rules require otherwise, raise it early and we will tell you plainly what we can do.
