What we collect at the gate
The camera at the plant gate records still images of vehicles passing the gate: a frame of the number plate and a frame of the vehicle body, with the time, direction and an estimate of load state. No continuous video is uploaded; the edge box keeps only the selected frames.
Registration plates of vehicles belonging to third parties (customers, transporters) are recorded as part of the plant's own gate record, on behalf of the plant owner, who is the data fiduciary for that record. Aariko processes it on the owner's instructions.
The edge box also records its own health: power state, disk, clock offset, software version and image-quality measurements. No audio is recorded.
What we collect in the app
Your mobile number (used for login by WhatsApp one-time code and for delivering reports), your device's push notification token, the app version and language, and crash reports with plate numbers and phone numbers removed.
We do not collect your location, contacts or photos, and the owner app does not use your phone's camera.
The lead form on this website collects your name, mobile number and plant type so that we can call you back. It is emailed to support@gatesetu.com and may be stored to follow up.
How long we keep it
Full-resolution images: 90 days on the edge box and 12 months in the cloud, both configurable per plant. Thumbnails are kept as long as the movement record.
Movement, trip and event records are append-only and are not deleted while the plant is a customer. When a plant leaves, we export the records to the owner on request and delete them after 90 days.
Who can see it
Owners of the plant, as added by an owner in the app. Aariko support staff, only for a plant where support access has been granted; every support action is logged and visible to the owners in the app.
Images are served through signed, expiring links. Data is stored on servers in India. We do not sell plant data and do not share it with anyone except providers needed to run the service (cloud hosting, WhatsApp Business API, push notifications).
Your rights and contact
Owners can see every record about their plant in the app, request a full export, and ask us to delete personal data we hold about them as a person. Write to support@gatesetu.com. We answer within seven working days.
This policy is written with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 in mind and will be updated as rules under it are notified.
